The shooting was reported just after 12:30 p.m. near Washington Boulevard on the westbound side of the freeway, officials said. A window on the driver’s side of the FlixBus was shattered.
Passengers reported hearing shots fired, leading the bus driver to come to a stop on the transition road from the westbound 10 Freeway to the northbound San Diego 405 Freeway.
A bullet grazed a female passenger, who was taken to UCLA Medical Center, but her injuries were not considered major, according to a CHP officer at the scene.
More than 30 other passengers were rerouted to another bus to continue onto their destination.
Investigators found a bullet casing on the bus, but it was unclear whether it came from a moving vehicle.
All lanes on the westbound 10 Freeway were shut down from Fairfax Avenue to Robertson Boulevard. Authorities issued a Sigalert due to police activity. The lanes were reopened just after 3:30 p.m.
The transition road from the 10 Freeway to the northbound 405 Freeway was also closed.
FlixBus is a discount transportation company that offers service to Fresno, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and Phoenix.
