Previously, Moore was the style and fashion news director of The Hollywood Reporter, where she had been since June 2016; prior to that, Moore spent 18 years at the Los Angeles Times as the paper’s first fashion critic. Moore has also authored three books about fashion.
“Booth is one of the most respected fashion writers out there, and WWD is excited to have her help grow and deepen our coverage of the fashion, retail and culture scenes on the West Coast, as well as to contribute compelling reviews and features on fashion worldwide,” says WWD Editorial Director James Fallon. ”Her arrival is part of our plan to significantly bulk up our coverage of the West Coast, from San Francisco to LA, San Diego to Sacramento.”
WWD itself has undergone a number of changes in recent years; following the retirement of longtime Editor-in-Chief Edward Nardoza in Dec. 2016, Miles Socha was promoted from his role as the trade’s executive editor, Europe. Under Socha, the paper has scaled back further on its print publication (which had already decreased from a daily paper to a weekly edition in 2015) in favor of focusing on its digital strategy, especially its newsletter and social media.
