We’re still not over the 2018 closing of beloved Hollywood fermentation restaurant Baroo, but fellow fans get another chance to taste Kwang Uh and Mina Park’s experimental cuisine once again with a pop-up inside of next month’s Frieze Los Angeles art fair.
Frieze’s first-ever L.A. fair takes over Paramount Studios from February 15 through 17. With dozens of galleries, artist talks, and installations and more to explore across the massive studio lot, visitors are sure to work up appetites. To keep them fueled, the festival has a curated a collection of food vendors that might be as appealing as what’s on display.
Baroo is among the highlights of the dining offerings, brining a menu of dishes based on seasonal California produce, fermented items, kombucha, and pickles. Other vendors on site will include Coni’Seafood, Roberta’s, and Ray Anthony Barrett’s African cuisine pop-up concept Cinqué.
Access to the dining area will be available only to Frieze ticket-holders. Those tickets are now on sale online, starting at $21.60.
The festival, which has become an annual cultural event in London and New York City, brings together many of the world’s most interesting galleries and artists. In addition to the displays in the main gallery hall–set to feature works by Mike Kelly, John Baldessari, Doug Aitken, and other prominent contemporary artists–there will be a program of live events, film screenings, large-scale sculptural and performance projects, and other experiences.
