The floors at The Liddel luxury condo development in Westwood have long been covered, but Carpet USA says it is still owed for its work.
The Inglewood-based company is suing the building’s developer, Palisades Capital Partners; the general contractor, Lendlease; and the lender, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, saying it is owed $551,000 for the job. The firm said it was paid about $115,000.
Carpet USA filed its claim in Los Angeles County Superior Court, two years after the condo was completed in 2017. Residents began moving in last year.
Palisades built The Liddel at 10777 Wilshire Boulevard. The GMP Architects-designed seven-story building has 56 luxury condos, ranging from 1,025 to 2,700 square feet. Prices range from $1.2 million to $4.3 million. The building is 105,000 square feet.
The lawsuit alleges breach of contract for not paying Carpet USA for services, materials, labor and equipment in furnishing and installing floor covers.
Murphy O’Brien, a public relations firm that is representing Santa Monica-based Palisades and The Liddel, said in a statement: “the developer is aware that the general contractor has some close-out issues with one or more of the subcontractors involved with the project. The developer will be working with the general contractor and others to resolve any issues.”
Lendlease did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Palisades has developed other projects nearby in Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. Last year, the firm filed plans with the city of Los Angeles for a $600-million mixed-use project in Echo Park.
