After a first look at adidas Spezial‘s upcoming Spring/Summer 2019 sneaker line-up recently emerged, adidas has now unveiled the full collection and accompanying apparel. After Fall/Winter 2018’s "Acid Winter" collection, the new drop takes inspiration from London, mixing archival adidas styles with references to the city’s sneaker and sportswear culture. One particular influence is legendary adidas collector Robert "Brooksy" Brooks, with his personal Three Stripe archive inspiring pieces across both Spring/Summer 2019 drops.
Stand-out footwear styles from the first drop include the SL80 (A) SPZL, which comes in the collection’s color palette of both bright orange and clear blue. This theme also continues onto two versions of the Whalley SPZL, Norfu SPZL and AS 620 SPZL. The collection is rounded out with the ZX530 SPZL, inspired by one of Brooks’ personal favorites from his collection.
In terms of apparel, key pieces include the bright orange Wardour military jacket — a nod to Spezial’s continuing terrace culture-influence — as well as the Gilbraith overskirt, Banktop hoodie and Anton parka. Other items include an updated take on the Beckenbauer tracksuit, a football-inspired jerseys and a baseball cap in navy.
