David Obadia of BWGH has teamed up with PUMA, taking on the newly revived RS-1 and Crack silhouettes. While the RS-1 receives a vintage nylon and suede update, the Crack gets reimagined in a wide-wale corduroy in both burgundy and yellow.
Reviving sneakers that date back as far as 50 years, Obadia successfully rebirthed these classics which he fondly remembers from his childhood. Describing the pairs, Obadia said "this is past, present and future," and his re-designs authentically complement the history of the silhouettes while simplifying and tastefully recreating the timeless look.
The pairs are effortlessly contemporary too. The minimal design approach nods to current normcore streetwear trends inspired by the archives of PUMA in the late-60s and mid-80s. All colorways sit atop a vintage white midsole, with the RS-1 fitted with PUMA’s (at the time) innovative RS Running System.
You’ll find retro finishes on both pairs, such as zig-zag stitching on the RS-1 and the iconic PUMA branded eyelet tab on the Crack silhouette.
All four colorways drop first on the 9th of February exclusively on Harmony-Paris and in Harmony’s Paris Flagship store and later on February 12th at PUMA and selected retailers worldwide.
