The Fosselman family adds another one, this time in Glendora
100-year-old ice cream company Fosselman’s is still growing after all these years. The namesake family behind the seemingly timeless company is growing its footprint, adding a brand new scoop shop out in downtown Glendora, just in time for those late-summer heatwaves.
The new shop won’t carry the Fosselman’s name directly — it’s called the Ice Cream Shop instead — but is being run by Michael and Katy Fosselman. “My favorite childhood memories are with my dad and uncles,” Michael Fosselman says in an email to Eater, “learning how to make ice cream and working in the shop every summer with my siblings.” Mike’s brothers Chris and John jointly operate the existing Fosselman’s location in Alhambra.
For those unfamiliar, Fosselman’s is greater Los Angeles’s oldest ice cream company. The 100-year-old brand has long been a San Gabriel Valley home for handmade ice creams in traditional flavors, and its existing scoop shop in Alhambra still carries a pared back, retro aesthetic, similar to New York City’s famed Morgenstern’s.
The Ice Cream Shop is set to arrive sometime in September, though an official opening date has not yet been announced.
