Garrett Camp and his new home
Uber went public this month and reported a $1 billion loss in revenue this week. Another Uber-related event happened in May that didn’t receive as much attention.
Co-founder and chairman Garrett Camp spent $9.5 million on newly-built home in the Hollywood Hills, according to Variety. This is his second home in the neighborhood. He and his wife Eliza Nguyen own another home three doors down.
The 6,280-square-foot property on Rising Glen Road includes five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Amenities include a saltwater pool, spa, media room, and granite fireplace.
An LLC tied to the Weinstein Opportunity Fund paid $3.6 million to acquire the land in 2016. The home was completed late last year.
Paul Wylie and Rick Albert of LAMERICA Real Estate had the listing.
Roughly three years ago, Camp and Nguyen spent $6.1 million to acquire a 3,730-square-foot pad on the same street, Variety reported. Designed by Hal Levitt, that home includes five bedrooms and five bathrooms.
Camp’s purchase pales in comparison to what fellow co-founder and former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick recently spent in New York. Kalanick paid $37 million for a 6,555-square-foot penthouse in Soho in November. [Variety] — Natalie Hoberman
