After debuting an array of new Nike collaborative sneakers in its latest Fall/Winter 2019 runway show, Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER imprint is back with seven colorways of its Daybreak collaborative sneaker, expected to hit shelves this Summer.
First debuted in the brand’s Spring/Summer 2019 show, the collaborative sneaker utilizes the vintage Daybreak silhouette, which was first released back in 1979, later utilized by Joan Benoit Samuelson’s legendary marathon time in 1984. The sneaker employs suede hits on its nylon-based upper, featuring a flared EVA midsole and cup innersole. Each pair will come with a unique crown-like embellishment on the heel. To this date, the Daybreak has yet to be reissued, making the collaboration a unique piece for collectors and fans of the two brands.
The collaborative sneaker is set to arrive in seven distinct colorways – three men’s and four women’s. Men’s options will include "Black/White/Summit White," "Blue Jay/Summit White/Black," and "Bright Citron/Black/Summit White" colorways. Women will be able to choose between "Black/Black/Sail," "Lucky Green/University Red/Sail," "Obsidian/Gold Dart/Sail," and "University Red/Black/Spruce Aura" color schemes.
The new sneakers will likely retail for $160 USD, and are expected to arrive at Nike’s web store and varying stockists.
