In our new series How Did You Meet?, local couples tell us how they first hooked up.
Tiffani and Lance met in an Uber Pool two years ago. As they sat in the backseat of a Honda Civic, they began discussing the meaning of clean shoes. “My mother always told me to look at a man’s shoes,” explains Tiffani, a fashion stylist. “She told me if his shoes are clean then he won’t be lazy and he’ll wash his feet.” He passed the shoe test and she passed him her number before he got out of the car.
Lance was the first stop on the route which allowed plenty of time for the Uber driver to play matchmaker. “The Uber guy sat talking with me in front of my place for 20 minutes,” says Tiffani. “He kept telling me that I should go out with Lance and that he seemed like a great guy. I wish we could find the driver and let him know how it ended.”
The following day, Lance called and they went to see Star Wars. “We still love going to the movies. Every Tuesday night we do $5 AMC evenings,” says Lance, a singer, dancer and actor. “We got married six months after we met.”
