These 9 Street Style Trends Will Dominate in NYC, London, Milan, and Paris

In a matter of weeks, the fashion crowd will descend upon New York, London, Milan, and Paris once again to attend the spring/summer 2020 shows. Once they do, the streets of these iconic fashion capitals will be flooded with these chic showgoers—and we’ll be sharing their best outfits like we always do. Quite frankly, we’re chomping at the bit to see the fashion week street style looks that will set the trends for the season ahead. But in the meantime, we’re placing bets on which fall street style trends will dominate the scene.

Will beige still reign supreme, or will another color trend eclipse it? Will we see fashion people carrying more micro or oversize bags? Ahead, we’re making our predictions on the trends we expect everyone to choose this season. I can only really describe the bags everyone will carry at fashion week as quirky. Whether in unexpected shapes à la Staud or whimsical prints and colors (we’re looking at Gucci’s new strawberry print), this season the coolest bags are all a little offbeat but in the best way possible.

Leather separates are a trend we saw completely invade the F/W 19 runways, so now that those pieces have become available, we expect to see more than a few street style stars wearing leather dresses, skirts, pants, and shirts.

Square toes are the defining detail of every trendy pair of shoes right now, and for fashion month, square-toe heels will be the It shoe choice everyone will agree on.

Move over, beige. There’s a new color trend in town for fall, and it’s equally as luxurious. Meet the soft, buttery yellow hues that everyone will be testing out over the coming weeks. Pastels aren’t traditionally part of a fall color scheme, but when they’re this good, we’re down to make some exceptions.

There’s a larger trend afoot, and it’s out to reinvent all your classic wardrobe staples. First up? Trench coats. This season, they’re getting fun new updates in oversize shapes and subtle yet eye-catching details that transform the topper from "boring" to downright trendy.

While fitted suiting can come off a bit too stuffy, slouchy suits strike the perfect balance between forward and polished. Catch fashion girls styling them with everything from strappy sandals to white sneakers.

So long, barely there baubles. Jewelry is getting a statement-making upgrade for fall, and we’re predicting chunky jewelry, especially chainlink necklaces, will be a huge hit.
