With summer quickly approaching, we’re about to hit peak wedding season. Whether you’ve excitedly RSVP’d to every invite or begrudgingly committed to the wedding circuit, one fact remains: You’re going to need something to wear—so why not make it as chic as possible? I tapped a pair of exceedingly stylish It girls to offer their pointers: Lottie Moss and Valentina Ferragni, both of whom were recently invited to the Atelier Pronovias 2020 show during Barcelona Bridal Week. (Side note: Did you catch actress Gina Rodriguez’s beautiful mermaid wedding dress by the brand?)
As for Moss, her favorite wedding guest outfit isn’t a traditional summer dress. "I love a nice jumpsuit," Moss told Who What Wear. "I wore a white one yesterday, but [I wouldn’t wear] white to a wedding to steal away from the bride. I like going quite modern. I think a jumpsuit is really elegant and classy and doesn’t take too much away from the bride. It’s easy, you can dance in it." Sounds like a win-win to us.
Ferragni, on the other hand, is a proponent of a classic dress as long as it’s understated. "[As a wedding guest] I would go for something delicate with silk or lace. Very simple. No sequins, flowers, or patterns, and I like a neutral palette." Naturally, both Moss and Ferragni agree that you should always be cognizant of not taking attention away from the bride.
Since they both attended Pronovias’s bridal show in Barcelona, I also had to ask Moss and Ferragni if they picked up any wedding dress ideas from the new collection. "I think for my wedding I’d probably want an extravagant dress—a wow dress," Moss told us. "A beautifully beaded, sparkly dress." As for Ferragni, she’s tempted by two different styles. "Sometimes I think I want something simple, like a silk mermaid style [wedding dress], but then if I see on Instagram or on my sister, and I realize I love princess style dresses." Given the popularity of having two wedding dresses, who says she has to choose?
