The Addams Family returns to the big screen this year in its original animated format and in all its kooky glory. The animated film will be separate from the hit 1990s remakes and will be more aligned to the original stories from the 1930s, ’70s and ’90s cartoons.
Directed by Conrad Vernon (of Shrek and Madagascar) and Greg Tiernan, who co-directed Sausage Party with Vernon, The Addams Family animation will star all of the much-loved characters and feature a heavy dose of family-friendly puns throughout. Gomez Addams will be voiced by Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron will voice Morticia, and Stranger Things’ Finn Wolfhard will take on Pugsley, finishing with Chloë Grace Moretz as the forever-melancholic Wednesday.
Nick Kroll, who recently voiced various characters in Netflix’s Big Mouth, and Better Midler will also be joining the lineup. Redefining what it means to be a "good neighbor" and spreading the message that everybody is welcome, the film will, fittingly, release on October 11 – just in time for Halloween.
