We consider ourselves to be Amazon aficionados. After scouring the website for the best new beauty launches every month—not to mention staying up-to-date on the top-trending products—we feel totally and thoroughly comfortable putting our Prime accounts to good use…and that we do. (In fact, if we’re being totally honest, ordering beauty products on Amazon has become as customary as grabbing a morning coffee, going for a jog, or maintaining a weekly brunch habit).

Today, as we were languidly scrolling through Amazon as we are wont to do, we noticed something rather interesting—that is, every single moisturizer that’s currently trending on the site is of the drugstore variety. That’s right, all 6 of the best-selling moisturizers on Amazon cost $19 or less; they’ll hydrate your skin without costing you a pretty penny.

It’s no surprise that the best-selling moisturizer on Amazon is currently held by CeraVe’s Moisturizing Cream. This tub of buttery cream is full of ceramides and hyaluronic acid. The former strengthens the skin’s natural moisture barrier. The latter retains moisture (up to 1000 times its weight in water). We like the fact that it’s free of fragrance and certified by the National Eczema Association.

The second best-selling moisturizer is Aveeno’s Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion. It’s formulated with Colloidal oatmeal, which is an ingredient lauded for soothing irritated skin. It’s also fragrance-free, which makes it even more gentle on dryness and sensitivity. As for the texture, we must say, it’s silky and absorbs very quickly, which can’t be said for all other drugstore moisturizers (some are thick and greasy, which isn’t our preference…at all).

Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Moisturizer isn’t as thick as others on this list. In fact, it’s thin and lightweight—more of a gel than a traditional cream. Rest assured it’s still very hydrating thanks to its star ingredient: hyaluronic acid, which binds water to the skin. This is the only moisturizer that doesn’t come from a nationally recognized brand. Instead, it’s from LilyAna Naturals, which is a smaller skincare brand that’s focused on creating staple products. It’s also the only moisturizer that includes retinol (you know, the vitamin A derivative that’s praised for everything from diminishing fine lines and wrinkles to clearing acne?). While its volume-to-price ratio isn’t as accommodating as the others, it still lands somewhere in the drugstore realm, seeing as it’s only $19 per bottle.
