Inspired by a textile utilized in the brand’s Fall/Winter 2018 offering, Stone Island joins with Japanese accessories expert PORTER for a one-off capsule of "Man Made Suede" bags. Each bag is unique, utilizing Stone Island’s bespoke fabric and dying process to ensure a different result each time.
Encompassing a waist bag (approximately $480 USD), backpack (approximately $830 USD) and a duffel bag (approximately $770 USD), the collection boasts the engineered faux suede pioneered for FW18. Comprised of "22 hyper thin microfiber layers," the fabric was provided to PORTER, which sewed the multiple colorways of each bag in Japan, before shipping them back to Italy. There, Stone Island gave each piece a bespoke dye treatment, before using lasers to zap an oversized logo on the shell.
The bags are exclusively available via Stone Island’s app, from February 14 until February 20.
PORTER has kept busy recently, debuting collaborations with BEAMS in Japan and New York’s Ovadia & Sons and Saturdays NYC
