Japanese designer Shinya Kozuka has slowly grown his domestic business over the past few years, and has aims to take his unique vision of post-workwear styling international. "ORDINARY LIFE," his Spring/Summer 2020 collection, is perhaps the clearest distillation of his brand’s ethos yet, showcasing an array of no-frills, model-free looks, emphasizing Kozuka’s dramatic silhouettes and thoughtful garments.
Generous coats and jackets lend the outfits boxy proportions, with wide fits and long cuts underlining Kozuka’s familiar comfort-first mindset. Lightweight work shirts and baggy trousers recall heritage garments, stylized with organic textiles and playful details that include bold stripes and floral prints hidden beneath the oversized layers. Raw hems, intentionally unfinished seams and muted tones reinforce the collection’s rugged motif, with charcoal jumpsuits and long brown shirts contrasting with the paler patchwork pieces.
The new collection will launch early next year at taste-making boutiques like WARE-MO-KOU and Wallace & Murron
