Last year, SELFMADE showed its Spring/Summer 2018 collection in Paris, made up of vibrant ’70s inspirations and tailored cuts. This season, the Filipino-Italian designer has geared up for the colder seasons ahead, creating an expansive FW19/20 collection.
The label is an extension of the designer’s diverse cultural roots — mixing his Italian side that focuses on tailoring, with his Filipino-American side, characterized by streetwear and hip-hop. Based between Florence and Paris, each piece in this season is made by hand. Throughout the collection, premium materials and well-cut finishings are presented in the form of thick embroidery, silk threads, rich mohair and treated leather, to mention a few. Baggy silhouettes like the graphic-heavy long coat, beige corduroy pants and a bold orange bomber are juxtaposed with their more fitted counterparts like blazers, slacks, trenchcoats and cardigans. One standout piece is the brown fur coat, hanging loosely around knee length and features creamy marble-tinted buttons. Another highlight is a black blazer etched throughout with white threading and red embroidery accents. Double breasted, the sport coat comes with matching pants that have a relaxed fit.
Dubbed "We Are A Single Soul," SELFMADE by Gianfranco Villegas FW19/20 will be available on the label’s website in the colder months ahead.
