Saint Bodhi, who signed with Def Jam Recordings, has debuted her first single, "FlowerChild," today on The Fader.
The young singer-songwriter’s new single takes on a dark tone while showcasing her R&B vocals and powerful lyricism that reveals a difficult past growing up, with lyrics including "Hope I don’t die tonight" and "Better watch my back." Saint Bodhi tells The Fader, “‘FlowerChild’ is an introduction into my dark and beautiful mind and shows you some of my childhood struggles. Black women are always looked at and expected to be strong, powerful, and supportive but no one wants to know or care what we had to go through to get to that point."
