Reebok has launched its ’90s-influenced "Sport The Unexpected" campaign, unveiling with it an updated take on its original Aztrek sneaker. Dubbed the Aztrek Double, the new kicks feature a bulkier silhouette that recall the chunky aesthetic and nostalgic vibe of the era that inspired the visuals.
To debut the sneakers, Reebok kicked off its marketing with a video entitled "Storm the Court." The eerie spot features the shoes in action on the basketball court, but worn by an individual who might otherwise seem atypical for the setting — driving home the brand’s "unexpected" aspect. "The conventional needs a shock to the system. The same old, same old needs some shaking up. Be the thing that no one sees coming," Reebok said in the caption.
Key features of the Aztrek Double include its stocky, studded outsole that lend it a thicker shape than the first Aztrek. Synthetic suede makes up the upper, which retains the asymmetrical design of the throwback version. The company’s Hexalite technology is added for enhanced cushioning. In addition to the all-white edition spotlighted in the campaign, the style is offered in pastel blue and light purple.
Priced at $100 USD, the Reebok Aztrek Double is available now on Reebok.com. Scroll above to see it live in the "Storm the Court" ad.
