Producer-meets-rapper-meets-songwriter Quelle Chris has returned with a brand new visual for his latest album Guns single “WYRM.” The Detroit based veteran recently released his latest project to universal applause, maintaining his niche, off-kilter sound alongside well-articulated politically-charged lyricism that is equal parts serious, funny, and witty. “WYRM” takes on similar tones, resorting to Chris effectively rapping out bleak themes and thoughts on death against a lounge-y piano-driven beat. Following his self-animated video for “Obamacare,” the latest music video resorts to offering a sense of Chris’ thoughts and artistic process, equally as his own personal narrative.
In a statement regarding the video, Chris shares his thoughts:
So many of my memories are collections of collages from home videos, photo books and boxes of developed pictures. The lucky few who have escaped the fate of moments lost in disposable cameras. VHS and mini cam tapes. Orphans of history without a home. This particular memory was captured on a Canon 814XL camera and shot with Kodak Super8. Through the lens of Grégoire Verbeke on a lovely afternoon in Brussels. A moment trapped in time. Ageless. Even as we fade. Will you remember?
