Porsche has just debuted its new entry-level 911 models for 2020 coming in the form of the 911 Carrera and the convertible version 911 Carrera Cabriolet.
Spec-wise, both models are powered by a 3.5L flat-six engine pushing out 379 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque with the help of a standard eight-speed PDK auto transmission. The Cabriolet can hit 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds whilst the regular Carrera clocks in 0.2 seconds faster at 4.0 seconds flat. The same goes for top speed, with the convertible reaching 180 mph while the regular 911 reaches up to 182 mph. With an optional upgraded Sport Chrono Package, both Porsches are capable of reducing their 0-60 mph times down to just 3.8 seconds.
Elsewhere on the cars, both editions come ready with Porsche’s own PASM suspension system, an electronically variable damping system, and two different drive modes to choose from. The cars sport 19-inch wheels up front with 20-inch ones at the rear, along with a Wet-Mode that detects water, helping drivers adjust the vehicle’s stability control and anti-lock brake systems. On the inside, the models are both decked out with the most up-to-date Porsche Communication Management system on a 10.9-inch touchscreen.
For those looking for an entry-level 911 for 2020, both the Carrera and Carrera Cabriolet will be available at various Porsche dealers early next year, with prices starting at $97,400 USD.
