As this year marks Brazil‘s 100th anniversary of wining the Copa America, Nike has released a new kit for the Brazilian National Team to wear this tournament.
Inspired by the 1919 Copa America, the anniversary top is designed in a clean white colorway while hits of blue can be found at the classic polo neck collar, sleeves and Nike Swoosh insignia located on the right chest. Each player’s number will also be marked in the same blue tone. Hidden away inside the jersey is the caption "o team brasileiro" (meaning "The Brazilian team") alongside a striped green and blue back panel. The kit is then completed with a pair of blue shorts and navy socks with a white-blue-white turnover.
On the new kit Nike shared:
"In 1919, Brasil hosted the first edition of Copa America. Wearing a white kit, the team made history that year by winning the tournament at home and starting a journey of victories that transformed Brazilian football into a national icon. Merging the early-1920s vintage feel of football with the modern style of contemporary sport, the special-edition Copa America jersey celebrates the 100th anniversary of that energetic moment."
