The latest trailer of Detective Pikachu showcases the coffee addicted yellow mouse voiced by Ryan Reynolds alongside a few familiar faces from the Pokémon universe in glorious CGI, including the legendary Mewtwo. This follows Reynolds’ previous video from yesterday, showing how the actor gets into character to voice Pikachu.
The visuals above showcase more insight into the film’s plot, which is set to see Pikachu and Justice Smith‘s Tim attempting to rescue Harry Goodman, Smith’s father and Pika’s former partner in the private eye game. We also see live-action visuals of the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo ahead of his appearance in the upcoming Pokémon: The Movie reboot. Other notable Pokémon to make appearances include Psyduck, Mr. Mime (again), Bulbasaur, Charizard, Jigglypuff, and Ludicolo. Alongside the release of the new trailer was the unveiling of the film’s official poster, which can be viewed below.
Check out the trailer above and catch Detective Pikachu when it hits theaters May 10.
