Donald Trump has kickstarted his UK tour, landing in London yesterday alongside his wife Melania Trump. The presidential couple were photographed exiting their plane, and the FLOTUS chose to pay tribute to the UK with her outfit, as is often custom when officials visit other country.
Melania wore a classic navy pencil skirt, which she teamed with a pussy bow blouse by British brand Burberry. The sleeveless silk shirt features an archive print of the house’s iconic scarves, a mix of nautical ropes and military medals.
It was also emblazoned with the word ‘society’, a reference to Burberry’s 1991 fragrance, and of course there could be a more political meaning, though Melania has previously denied adding secret meaning to her outfits – we all remember the jacket. She accessorised her look with court shoes and oversized sunglasses.
For his second official visit to the UK, President Trump is making it a family affair, and brought four of his children with him (Ivanka was spotted visiting the Dior exhibition at the V&A yesterday.
He will be received by the Queen at Buckingham Palace today, though he’s no expected to see Meghan Markle, who is on maternity leave after welcoming baby Archie in May.
