Although baby Archie’s christening was done without much fanfare this weekend (even the Queen didn’t attend), Meghan and Harry still made sure it was very special, from dressing their son in a christening gown passed down the generations, to paying small tributes to Princess Diana.
You might also have missed the fact that the Duchess of Sussex also nodded to her own wedding day, by wearing the diamond earrings she wore then.
The Cartier stud earrings are reportedly worth £12k, and matched the wedding tiara – also by Cartier – which she borrowed from the Queen.
This way she tied together two significant events in her life. She teamed the earrings with a super elegant white Dior ensemble, a bit of a departure from her usual go-to fashion house: Givenchy.
It’s traditional for royal mothers to wear white to the christening of their children, and Kate wore her favourite Alexander McQueen coat dress to Prince Louis’ christening just last year.
The royal couple are yet to officially reveal who Archie’s godparents are, but there are rumours surrounding the identity of his godfather.
So watch this space.
