Elizabeth Luster, whose grandfather was cosmetics king Max Factor, has sold a beach house in Malibu’s exclusive Colony Beach area, The Real Deal has learned.
The home at 2378 Malibu Road sold for $19.1 million, records show. The woodclad post-modern house has four bedrooms and 30 feet of beachfront, according to listings information. There’s a separate unit above the garage.
The buyer is an entity controlled by an anonymous trust based in South Dakota, and represented by Jordan Wright of Compass. The buyer’s LLC is registered as Harmonia Malibu.
The home was owned and sold through a trust. Luster was represented by The Agency’s Santiago Arana and Pinnacle Estate Properties’ Douglas Carroll.
It is next to the gated community on Malibu Colony Road, which has been the most expensive neighborhood in the Greater Los Angeles area to buy a home for two years.
Luster has also owned homes in Beverly Hills, Pacific Palisades and Sonoma, according to the L.A. Times.
She is the the adopted daughter of Freda Factor, the oldest daughter of Max Factor, founder of the eponymous cosmetics empire. The family sold the Max Factor brand in 1973 for $480 million, according to the L.A. Times.
Luster is the mother of Andrew Luster, who is serving 50 years in prison for rape.
