What does it all mean??
The college admissions scandal has dominated the headlines this past month, with the recently unearthed scheme reportedly being the largest college admissions scandal of all time.
The scheme in question reportedly saw parents bribe school officials and college coaches to get their children into top colleges, either by cheating on standardised tests or by getting the children accepted as college athletes despite often not even playing the sport.
According to federal prosecutors, 50 people took part in the scheme, with some very famous faces among the parents involved.
90210 actress Lori Loughlin, her husband fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli and Desperate Housewives actress Felicity Huffman have all been charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud in ‘Operation Varsity Blues’, looking at potential jail time, with the felonies carrying a maximum sentence of five years.
Since news broke of the scandal, Lori, among the others involved, has kept her head down, refusing to comment, with brands and onscreen projects distancing themselves from her in the aftermath.
This week however, the actress broke her silence, but not officially, as she was filmed by paparazzi who were following her over the weekend in LA.
‘You can follow me around all day if you want, but I just can’t comment right now,’ Lori can be seen telling them in a video by TMZ. ‘But thank you for your time.’
She can later be seen saying: ‘You have a beautiful day. Thank you so much. Thanks, honey.’
Lori Loughlin is reportedly set to appear in court on Wednesday.
