After months of teasers and closer looks, IKEA and Sonos have unveiled the official release date of their collaborative SYMFONISK speakers. The WiFi-powered devices will fuse furniture and technology, providing sound systems that are meant to seamlessly blend in with existing home furnishings.
A table lamp and bookshelf are included in the SYMFONISK collection, with both items being compatible with Sonos’ products and the brand’s namesake app, as well as all major music streaming services. Each item is purposefully simplistic in order to fit within any room and setting, and are designed with minimal devices and cords to help create a de-cluttered environment. The colors offered include black and white, keeping in line with the neutral theme.
IKEA will roll both products out beginning August 1 at its U.S.-based stores and on IKEA-USA.com. The SYMFONISK Table Lamp will retail for $179 USD, while the SYMFONISK Bookshelf is priced at $99 USD.
In other news, Saint Laurent recently collaborated with Japanese company COTODAMA on a set of $2,665 USD speakers.
