- Grammy-nominated musician Ryan Adams apologized for "many mistakes," following a New York Times report that detailed numerous allegations of sexual misconduct and manipulative behavior from several women.
- "I am not a perfect man and I have made many mistakes," Ryan said in a statement on Twitter. "To anyone I have ever hurt, however unintentionally, I apologize deeply and unreservedly."

Grammy-nominated musician Ryan Adams apologized for "many mistakes" following a New York Times report that detailed allegations of sexual misconduct and manipulative behavior from several women, including his ex-wife, singer and actress Mandy Moore.
"I am not a perfect man and I have made many mistakes," Ryan said in a statement on Twitter. "To anyone I have ever hurt, however unintentionally, I apologize deeply and unreservedly."
Ryan disputed some of the characterizations made in the report, which was published on Wednesday. One of the allegations included sending and receiving sexually explicit text messages with an underage girl.
"The picture that this article paints is upsettingly inaccurate. Some of its details are misrepresented; some are exaggerated; some are outright false," he said. "I would never have inappropriate interactions with someone I though was underage. Period."
Multiple aspiring female artists alleged that Adams — who has recorded 16 albums, was nominated for seven Grammys, and holds a level of clout in the music industry — engaged in manipulative behavior by initially offering collaborative opportunities but later making sexual or romantic advances.
When the musicians reneged his advances, Adams allegedly pulled his support, or in some cases sent harassing texts messages, The Times reported.
On one occasion, Adams reportedly posted an image of Megan Butterworth, his ex‐fiancée, on his Instagram page with the caption: "Get it while it’s hot folks … [Butterworth] IS SINGLE."
The Times reviewed thousands of text messages from the women and corroborated their accounts through family members and friends.
Adams, through his attorney, denied the allegations and described them as "extremely serious and outlandish accusations," The Times reported.
