Meghan Markle has a difficult relationship with her family, something that has plagued her first year as a royal.
The Markles as a whole have created a lot of drama around the now Duchess of Sussex, from estranged nephew Tyler Dooley naming his cannabis business after her to her half sister Samantha Grant (now going by Markle) choosing Meghan’s due date as the release date for her tell-all book.
It’s her father Thomas Markle however who has made the most noise, continuously engaging with the press, despite Meghan’s reported pleas for him not to, and even announced to be releasing a book about Meghan’s childhood.
It’s hardly surprising therefore that he has not come to the United Kingdom ahead of the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first child (due any day now), with Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland arriving in the capital just this week.

But after insisting that he was hopeful that Meghan would reach out to him and let him meet his grandchild, a royal biographer has explained that it is very unlikely.
The claims come after Mr Markle appeared on Good Morning Britain where he revealed he was still hopeful Meghan would reach out to him and allow him to meet his grandchild.
Royal biographer Duncan Larcombe however explained that this probably wouldn’t be the case.
In new documentary, Meghan and Harry: A Royal Baby Story, Larcombe explained: ‘I can’t think for a minute that Thomas Markle will ever be able to meet his grandson or granddaughter.’
While it does seem unlikely that Meghan’s dad will get to meet the future arrival, only time will tell.
