Have you ever intentionally bought a dupe of something you own?

I know I’ve purchased Nivea’s cream, which is often listed as a dupe for La Mer, for my mom (she doesn’t agree but says Nivea’s–German version–is a distant cousin and one of the better moisturizers she’s tried).
