FKA Twigs has teamed up with WeTransfer to present a short film titled Practice. The film examines the training and preparation required for Twigs’ latest single "Cellophane," celebrating the physical training and creative process required to make the music video.
Practice is directed by AnAkA — who has previously worked with Levi’s, Beats by Dre, the Portland Art Museum and Universal Music Group — and looks into how FKA Twigs’ creative vision came together for the "Cellophane" video. The music video was directed by Andrew Thomas Huang, who captured the singer in her most intimate and demanding role ever.
In Practice, Twigs lets the camera in for a rare insight into the way the video’s poll-dancing came about. FKA Twigs says in a press release, "There was a lot of hard work that went into making the video happen — on a creative level, on a business level, on a physical level. It’s all very well me going and doing a three-minute routine, that’s easy. But the difficult thing is knowing that you have the stamina and the strength to do be able to do that three-minute routine for eight hours, and that’s something different.”
She goes on to discuss this in more detail in Practice, which is the second video between the singer and WeTransfer’s WePresent platform, following her documentary on the Baltimore Dance Project. You can watch the Practice above.
In other news, a Mac Miller documentary is in the works.
