Happy Tuesday and welcome to the essie summer 2019 collection!
This limited edition collection features six new cremes for summer. Now some people have said these are neons, but I beg to differ. I think only one can be classified as a neon, though they do dry with a matte finish, as most neons do. Bright? Yes! But neon? Nope.
These didn’t have the most perfect application, I must say. Most of these are three thin coats even over a ridge-filling base coat. Three coats isn’t a deal-breaker for me, I normally use three as I like my nail polish as saturated as possible. I swatched all of these with a top coat so you can see the pretty shine.
in full swing is a light peach.
soles on fire is a neon light orange. This is the only one I would call a neon.
strike a rose is a super bright flamingo pink (I don’t feel this quite hits the neon category though.)
take the lead is a bright sky blue (again, not a neon IMO.)
claim to flame is a medium orange/tan creme.
tangoed in love is a gorgeous bright grape purple. Again, this isn’t neon to me, but definitely bright.
Overall this collection is really nice and I am quite happy with most of the shades. My favorites are soles on fire, take the lead and tangoed in love.
You can find the limited edition essie summer 2019 collection on their site and in stores now (they are just rolling out now.)
See anything here you love?
