The British Royal Family and Prince Harry have confirmed the safe delivery of Meghan Markle‘s first child, a boy. The Dutchess of Sussex went into labor earlier this morning with her husband and mother by her side. Prince Harry shared that the baby, who weighed in at 7lbs 3oz, was a bit overdue but was delivered safely in London. He went on to hold an informal press conference by himself promising to formally present the child in a few days:
"I haven’t been at many births. This is definitely my first birth. It was amazing, absolutely incredible, and, as I said, I’m so incredibly proud of my wife. As every father and parent will ever say, you know, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to-die-for, so I’m just over the moon. It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension"
The unnamed child is Queen Elizabeth’s eighth great-grandchild and seventh in line to the throne. The family has yet to share the baby’s name so stay tuned for more information.
Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex was safely delivered of a son at 0526hrs.
The baby weighs 7lbs 3oz and The Duke of Sussex was present for the birth.
