Three family members involved in the July 6 fistfight in front of Goofy’s Playhouse in Toontown as children are heard crying in the background are facing felony and misdemeanor charges in Orange County, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Police weren’t on the scene at the time of the brawl, but launched an investigation after a cellphone video of the melee went viral and people questioned Disneyland security’s response when the fight broke out.
Prosecutors say Avery Robinson, 35, of Las Vegas, attacked his sister, his girlfriend, and his brother-in-law after his sister Andrea Nicole Robinson, 40, of Compton, spat at him during an argument. Also identified in the fight is Andrea Robinson’s husband, Daman Petrie.
Avery Robinson was arrested Saturday is being held without bail at Orange County Jail in Santa Ana. Of the three participants in the fight, he faces the most serious charges: corporal injury on a spouse; assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury; assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of criminal threats, all felonies.
He is also charged with five counts of misdemeanor battery and four counts of child abuse and endangerment. He faces seven years and four months in prison if convicted.
Andrea Robinson was charged with four misdemeanor counts of battery and a misdemeanor count of assault for her part in the fight, which prosecutors say also includes assaulting a park employee. She faces a maximum of two an years in jail if convicted.
Daman Petrie could spend six in months in jail for allegedly punching Avery Robinson’s girlfriend in the face.
Andrea Robinson and Petrie have not been arrested.
