Formula Overview

The duo includes both a "monochromatic matte and shimmer shade" that can be used "individually or layer[ed] together." The blushes are described as having "high-impact payoff" with no other specifics. The consistency of the matte shades was incredibly silky, finely-milled, and smooth without being powdery–they were thinner but not difficult to apply and sat well on bare skin as well as over foundation. The pigmentation ranged from semi-opaque to opaque and was definitely buildable.

Both the matte and shimmer products wore between eight and nine hours on me.

The shimmery shades were slightly firmer with more of a powder-gel hybrid consistency that is firmer, denser but is often smoother and more "melted" when applied and blended out on skin. For this type of formula, I’d recommend a moderately dense blush or highlighter brush. Most of the shimmery shades had a luminous sheen–smoother, shinier finish but not intense or metallic. I found that layering the matte over the shimmer to yield a more intense shimmer effect, which is more of a tip from me to you than a pro/con.
