Riding the heels of its Fall/Winter 2019 show in Seoul, COTTWEILER has returned with its forthcoming Spring/Summer 2019 collection, gracing the runways at Paris Fashion Week.
COTTWEILER’s latest SS20 collection enlists a wide range of digital screen prints, various technical fabrics, tactical harnesses and deep gradients. Ranging from multi-paneled windbreakers, track pants, nylon shorts, half-zip shirts, long coats, polos, faded knitwear and backpacks. This season’s concept is informed by an extensive research trip to Egypt, taking form in hazy digital renderings and scenes of Egyptian landscapes projected over the runway backdrop. COTTWEILER shined a light on its repertoire for fusing Saville Row heritage with digital futurism.
Spotlighting the range are the gradient-hued athletic gear, deconstructed trousers, various knitwear and belts. One standout piece is a black backpack that comes equipped with a bevy of ballistic nylon straps. A thick waist girdle features a sizable buckle with hanging straps, complemented by a smaller chest belt above. Its shoulder straps are lined with ripstop fabrication, while brightly lit strobe lights face forward at the top of the bag. Another highlighted piece is the technical trousers that feature harnesses underneath. The pants come with an open compartment at the knee, exposing some of the straps underneath. Details like deep pockets and asymmetrical seams complete the piece. Other garments like the graphic-emblazoned shirts, track jackets, tank tops and various accessories round out the expansive assemblage.
