The pairs, which were previously seen earlier last week in "Dark Denim," have been developed in collaboration with UK-based vintage retailer Beyond Retro. Converse has produced three colorways in its Renew Denim drop which sustainably repurpose tens of thousands of pairs of denim jeans per season. At least one pair of denim is turned into one pair of Chucks, which are available in shades light, medium and dark.
Converse uses a butterfly cut on the denim to get the right shape for each pair’s panel construction. As all denim is unique, so is each pair of Chucks. The Renew Denim line came from a four-year-long journey envisioned by Converse employees who made sneakers from reclaimed materials. Denim is one of the most commonly landfilled fabrics in the fashion industry, and as a result, the Renew Denim initiative was born.
Aside from its sustainably sourced upper, the Converses feature a traditional all-white sole unit, a white toe cap, white laces and a white "CONVERSE ALL STAR" emblem on the high top pair. Take a look at the upcoming pairs in the gallery above and pick up your favorite from Converse stockists and online when they drop on August 22. The Ox Low will be priced at £75 GBP (approx. $90 USD) and the Chuck 70 High will be priced at £80 GBP (approx. $96 USD).
