While we recently took a detailed look at the shoes, COMME des GARÇONS had not revealed the official release date for its Air Jordan 1 collaboration. However, it seems that the brand dropped the sneakers on August 2 without prior notice at New York’s Dover Street Market and COMME des GARÇONS flagship store.
The partnership, initially debuted on CDG’s Fall/Winter 2019 runway, marks the first-ever collaboration between the Japanese label and Jordan Brand. Although the official release date was never revealed, the shoes landed in-store along with other FW19 items, which are arriving at CDG’s HOMME Plus stockists. The surprise drop features both black and white colorways with design elements like a raised tongue and dangling metal embellishments.
The COMME des GARÇONS Air Jordan 1 Retro High sneakers have launched at the price of $345 USD in the brand’s two New York locations. The silhouette is also available in Japan, where resellers are marking prices as high as ¥50,000 JPY (approximately $470 USD) from the retail price of ¥39,000 (approximately 365 USD).
