Auto aficionados will always conjure up ideas of their "dream garage" — a culmination of their wants/needs of all things automotive. In its latest feature, car journalist Chris Harris and Top Gear visit an RM Sotheby’s anonymous warehouse to view the enormous collection of 70s, 80s and 90s sports and luxury cars on display, to Harris’s ultimate shock and awe.
The warehouse, which officially houses the RM Auctions ‘Youngtimers’ proudly stores the finest in retro automobiles from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Bentley, Lotus and more. Offered is a wide range of some of the timeless classics — M division sedans and AMG powerhouses — as well as exceptionally rare machines produced by Alpina, Aston Martin, Porsche and more. Harris particularly geeks out over some truly remarkable rarities: a fleet of Nissan/Datsun 280Zs including a 50th anniversary Turbo, a 5.0L W123T Wagon tuned by AMG, and a Renault 5 Turbo 2 with only 29,000km on the odometer. Harris continues to fall head over heels with the giant assortment of cars presented, but also points out the quirks and features of many of the vehicles in the grandest display of "kid in a candy store" the journalist has ever had televised of himself.
