Cardi B has followed up her hit single "Press" with a snippet from an untitled song in honor to her daughter Kulture’s first birthday. The preview can be heard on an Instagram post uploaded by the Bronx rapper yesterday and is set to sample Eve’s 1999 single “Love Is Blind."
The song discusses Cardi’s battle with experiencing her private life becoming exposed to the public, something which she heavily references in "Press" and her 2018 album Invasion of Privacy. The Instagram post consists of a slideshow featuring Cardi, Kulture and Offset, and overhears Cardi rap, "Hearing public opinions about my private decisions/And they’re right there, see, is enough to drive you crazy/Complete strangers talking about my baby/Coming from people that never used to check for me/They brought opinions but nothing off the registry."
As the rapper notes in her caption, the untitled song was meant to appear on Invasion of Privacy. She adds, "I made this song one day before I turned in my album and Eve gave me the green light for the beat I was so grateful!” the rapper wrote. “She a real one! It didn’t make it on time tho cause as you can hear I was mad stuffy with a terrible cold. I couldn’t get it right no matter how many times I spit it. Even when we try to mix it u still sound stuffy." Take a listen to the potentially soon-coming track below.
