Give — and take — a variety of cactus, succulents and many other plants and produce at the January 2019 Plant Trade for the Plant Traders of Los Angeles and the OC Garden Trading Community at the Cerritos Sports Complex, 19900 Bloomfield Ave. in Cerritos. The event is simple, says one of the administrators, Jasmin De La Peña. Participants should arrive by 9:30 a.m., put out the small plants or cuttings they want to share and then look around to see what they want to take. The trading begins at 10 a.m. There’s also a free raffle of donated items, including unusual plants and gently used garden tools, says De La Peña. “It’s like a community. You get to talk to people about gardening, and it’s really fun.” Find out more on the group’s Facebook page, which has more than 600 members.
