West Coast bias reigned when it came to National Basketball Association teams on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in December.
Social marketing firm Unmetric found that the Golden State Warriors led NBA clubs in Facebook and Instagram likes last month, as well as Instagram comments.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers topped Twitter in likes and had the most comments on Facebook and Twitter.
Unmetric examined its cross-channel reports for all 30 NBA teams from Dec. 1 through 31, and it also found that:
- The teams topping audience size on the three social networks remained unchanged, with the Lakers leading Facebook and Twitter and the Warriors sitting atop Instagram.
- The Sacramento Kings posted the most growth on Facebook for the month, while the Philadelphia 76ers did so on Twitter and ditto for the Dallas Mavericks on Instagram.
- The Bucks led engagement on Facebook, while the Mavericks topped Twitter and Instagram was paced by the Lakers.
- The Houston Rockets were the most prolific posters among NBA teams on Facebook, while the Bucks were the top tweeters and the most active club on Instagram was the Cleveland Cavaliers.
