Virgil Abloh debuted his second runway collection for Louis Vuitton men’s on Thursday in Paris. An homage to Michael Jackson, the elaborate set — a replica of the New York corner of Ludlow and Rivington (from a bygone era), the music and the clothes all included colorful references to the beloved pop icon. With all that, and both Timothée Chalamet and Frank Ocean sitting in the front row, there’s been a lot to digest from the show, meaning you may have missed one of the most important features: the accessories.
While there were many undeniably covetable pieces of apparel in the collection, the Abloh-designed footwear and bags will likely bring in the most money for the French luxury house. The designer once again found new ways to play with Vuitton’s excellent craftsmanship, signature shapes and monograms, from neon see-through and glow-in-the-dark duffle bags (see above), to branded chunky sneakers that felt very Abloh, to a luxe reimagining of Jackson’s iconic penny loafers.
