Sarah Paulson has been having quite the red carpet streak while promoting “Glass,” the latest feature from director M. Night Shyamalan. After her (literally) fire gown from Prada in London, the actress wore a similarly striking ensemble for her new film’s New York City premiere on Tuesday night. The balloon-sleeve, high-gloss Tyvek dress in fire-engine red (are we sensing a theme here?) from Calvin Klein 205W39NYC — a Pre-Fall 2019 look that also happens to be one of Raf Simons’s final designs for the American brand. (His sudden, but somewhat anticipated departure was announced in December, and the 205W39NYC line is set for an overhaul.)
While the original pre-fall look paired Paulson’s dress with high black, shiny boots, stylist Karla Welch — who revealed on Instagram that Carol Channing, the Broadway legend with a penchant for bold, bright fashion who passed away this week, inspired the ensemble — opted for red sandals with asymmetrical crystal straps, which seems like a more appropriate choice for a glamorous red carpet appearance. To complement the outfit’s extreme silhouette, hairstylist Bridget Brager kept Paulson’s blunt bob super straight and sleek, while makeup artist Adam Breuchard matched her dress’s color with a red lip.
