WASHINGTON, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) — Memphis Grizzlies forward Chandler Parsons has chosen to continue his rehabilitation from knee injury in Los Angeles, said General Manager Chris Wallance in a statement on Sunday.
“We met with Chandler and spoke with him and his representations numerous times during his rehab process, laying out a number of options to help integrate a healthy and effective Chandler back on to the floor,” Wallance said.
According to the statement, the 30-year-old chose to recuperate in Los Angeles over remaining in Memphis and turning out for the Memphis Hustle, the Grizzlies’ G League affiliate.
Parsons joined the Grizzlies as a free agent on a four-year contract worth 94 million dollars in 2016, but played only 70 games over the previous two seasons owing to knee injuries and surgery. His only three appearances this season came in October.
The Grizzlies have slipped to the 12th in the NBA Western Conference following a five-game losing streak.
“We will continue to monitor Chandler’s progress,” Wallance said.
