After two years in the works, the Delijani family has received its final environmental review from the city on a 179-unit mixed-use project in North Hollywood.
The project is set for a parking lot at 10850 West Riverside Drive. The five-story building will have studio, one-, and two-bedroom units, including eight set aside for low-income renters, according to Urbanize. Around 5,700 square feet of ground-floor retail space is planned. That’s about in line with the project as first proposed in 2016.
The developer is Fred Delijani, whose family is an established force in Los Angeles development, in particular around Downtown L.A. Family members own the Tower Theater in Downtown, where Apple is building a long-awaited Apple Store. In August, it was revealed the family would redevelop a neighboring building it owns with apartments.
TCA Architects is designing the project in North Hollywood. The new building will be L-shaped to hug an existing 1960s office building on-site. The city has approved the existing building for an adaptive reuse to convert it to a residential building with 55 units and 8,500 square feet of retail space. [Urbanize] – Dennis Lynch
