Following the abrupt departure of Raf Simons in December of 2018, more changes are afoot at Calvin Klein: The company will be rebranding the 205W39NYC collection started by Simons after the remainder of his designs — the Spring and Pre-Fall 2019 collections — are shipped, per a memo sent inside the company.
“The new business will focus on connecting directly to all of the other Calvin Klein brands and amplifying each category with unique products and aspirational experiences,” a release from PVH reads. “The relaunched business will be designed to evolve the traditional luxury fashion model by connecting with a diverse range of communities, offering an unexpected mix of influences and moving at an accelerated pace.”
In addition, the brand will shutter its Madison Avenue boutique in New York in spring of 2019 and is “evaluating options for future retail locations.” Inside the company, the structure is being streamlined, leading to the creation of an internal “consumer marketing organization” and the consolidation of men’s Calvin Klein Sportswear and Calvin Klein Jeans.
