Brooklyn-born brand Adsum has presented its workwear-indebted Fall/Winter 2019 collection and has announced the opening of its flagship store.
The collection draws inspiration from workers in Napa Valley, resulting in an outerwear-heavy collection indebted with workwear design cues. Adsum trawled through harvest related imagery of past and present in order to understand the casual yet functional outfits worn by agriculturists and harvesters.
Founder and designer Pete Macnee noted that "someone working in horticulture will wear double-layer knee cotton pants for comfort and utility, but on a cold morning, a performance insulation layer is what most people are going to reach for." As a result, Adsum FW19 presents garments such as the Utility Pant and Work Jacket made from a durable, heavy, dry herringbone twill — staying true to the workwear theme — as well as an Expedition fleece made from heavyweight, Japanese-milled Taslan with a reversed pile for the interior.
An Adsum classic, the Saratoga Jacket, has been upgraded with a lighter 3L shell fabric and improved interior taping for this season. The collection also features graphics such as the circular Terra Firma logo, which references the land of Napa Valley directly, and the Square Park design, which Adsum says is "typical of old well-worn collegiate gear that a worker may have picked up second hand."
Drop one of the FW19 collection will take place on August 22 and drop two will be later in October. Pick up your favorite pieces from retailers such as END. Clothing. or the soon-opening Adsum flagship store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
In other news, NOAH has mixed prep with the outdoors for its FW19 offering.
