I don’t know if I’m alone here, but outfit ideas dictate a large chunk of my social life. For example, if I’m really excited about a new top I just added to my closet, I’ll force my friends into going out that night just so the outfit I’m dreaming up in my head can get some airtime. Likewise, if I have an event coming up and nothing to wear to it, I’ll be wracked with panic. To be clear, this is by no means a logical way to operate; alas, I’ve come to rely on the plethora of outfit ideas I come across in my Instagram feed as fuel for my social calendar.
Lately, I’ve been spotting so many killer spring date outfits from all the cool Who What Wear readers I follow, and, yes, these looks are so good they’ve even motivated me to download a dating app so I can easily find an occasion to test them out IRL. Getting dressed for a date, especially a first date, can be a mix of nerves and excitement but mostly nerves as you debate how to make the best first impression. Hence, why having an outfit already on lock before the night of is crucial.
Despite your relationship status or need for legitimate date-outfit ideas, I think the following looks can all easily translate for any other occasion, like a dinner with friends or a casual cocktail hour. Keep reading to see what’s been inspiring my date outfits this spring and shop the key pieces you need to re-create each one, too.
